Landon Hedgepeth1 StarTerrible experience! If you choose to use this company, do not pay them the remaining balance until the job is complete to your satisfaction. Other reviews are very accurate in that once they have your money, you are dead to them. I have texted David more than 10 times with no reply. In the beginning (after mostly completing the job) he would reply and say he was just busy but now he just completely avoids me and my wife’s messages. We have called the office and left several voicemails, and even spoken to the front desk girl who promises call backs and assistance but no change.
In terms of the workmanship, it’s very inconsistent. As you will see in the photos, they have paint on the cabinets from what their painter did. There are also large gaps against the wall. Some places it’s flush, other areas have gaps as large as a quarter inch or more.
It’s very disappointing when you research who you think may be a good fit for a home project, save the money to do so, and then you are left to clean up their sloppy work after you gave them all of your money. Very disappointing!Tuesday 14th June 2022
Jeffrey Aal1 StarDEA Remodeling Kitchens and Closets, aka Kitchens and Closets by DEA, secured a significant deposit from me for proposed contracting work. They have completed minimal work and incomplete products for one hundred days plus.
New reviews posted after my deposit indicated significant cause for concern. I followed up and attempted to resolve the concerns directly with the Principal of DEA Remodeling Kitchens and Closets, Mr. Eric Marshall, without success. Mr. Marshall has removed all mention of his business on Facebook and other sites.
A complaint has been made to the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. I believe that a minimum of three complaints have been submitted for investigation, one of which has been referred to the ROC Legal department. I suspect the resolution of this will be a long process. Do your research – avoid business with this company.Friday 23rd September 2022
Eric M1 StarI hired Kitchens + Closets by DEA Remodeling to install closets after a recommendation from a family member. They may be a little high priced but have a high quality product. However, be aware that their installer/part owner David Marshal is very flaky, late, and will no call no show your appointments. (Wife waited over two hours for an appointment HE MADE and no called no showed. Making my wife two hours late to work waiting.) This has been the most unprofessional experience I have had with a company. David needs to learn how to communicate with his customer and set realistic expectations for himself and his customers. 50/50 chance David will return a text message or phone calls. David acts like he is doing you a favor by finishing the work you already paid him for. I actually cancelled what work we had left for them to do. Save yourself the headache, money and most of all time wasted. If zero stars was option I would use it.Saturday 6th June 2020
CINDY GREGORY1 StarI hired DEA in December to update 3 bathrooms and remodel a closet. Eric told us he would not start the job until all products were in because he wanted us to move out while the job was being done. We were quoted 6-8 weeks for completion. In early February he called and said everything was in and they would start demo on Feb 15 so we moved out. The demo was done in 2 days so we were off to a great start! Although the contract said 50% down ($42,000) and remainder at installation, he called and said he needed 25% more. I argued with him but got nowhere. He said he would not do another thing without another $20,000. Since my home was now unlivable, I gave him another $20,000. The flooring contractor eventually came and installed flooring. 10% of it is chipped but there were not enough tiles to fix the damaged ones. The painter painted over wallpaper instead of removing it. We are still waiting on bathroom cabinets, countertops, and bathtubs. He will not return our phone calls or even respond to a text. Our project manager is great but there is nothing he can do without product or contractors. We are now 4 months into this mess. I filed a ROC complaint. Attorney next?Tuesday 28th June 2022
Mark Tamuty5 StarMy wife and I completed a kitchen remodel with DEA remodeling. We looked at a lot of companies (6 to be exact) and we were impressed by their knowledge, design and felt that their cost was very competitive. The finished product looked wonderful and is more functional than what we had before. Eric and his team are great to work with and we would use them again for future projects.Friday 15th November 2019
